Hannah Nentakpeh Mckay
Executive Director
Hannah Nentakpeh McKay is the Executive Director of B4 Youth Theatre, a Liberian-rooted, internationally connected organization using the arts to develop confident, conscious, and creative young leaders. In 2013, Hannah founded B4 Youth Theatre as a student, fueled by a deep passion to create safe, expressive spaces where young people in Liberia could explore leadership, community transformation, and storytelling through the arts.
What began as a small youth-led initiative in Gbarnga has grown into a national and international movement, reaching over 6,000 youth across Liberia and the United States. Along the way, Hannah has grown with the organization—serving as Junior Arts Instructor, Senior Arts Instructor, Partnership Director, Interns Executive Director, and now proudly as Executive Director. Each role has prepared her to lead with empathy, vision, and a clear understanding of both the challenges and boundless potential within Liberia’s youth community.
Under her leadership, B4YT has delivered comprehensive programming in theatre, creative writing, social justice advocacy, and youth leadership. One of the organization’s most impactful international initiatives, 200 Years of Return, brought together Liberian and African American youth in a powerful cultural exchange exploring identity, history, and healing through performance and dialogue.
On June 28, 2025, B4 Youth Theatre celebrated its 15th anniversary—a proud milestone that reflects the organization's journey from a grassroots effort to a globally recognized platform for youth empowerment. Looking to the future, Hannah envisions expanding B4YT’s presence into all 15 counties of Liberia, ensuring that every young person—regardless of location—has access to transformative arts education and leadership opportunities.
Alongside her leadership at B4YT, Hannah is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) degree at Sandip University in India. She is committed to integrating technology and innovation into B4YT’s programs and continuing to build creative platforms that uplift young voices in both local and global contexts.
Hannah remains deeply committed to nurturing a generation of youth who are equipped not only to lead but to transform—because when young people are given the space to lead, they don’t just perform; they transform.
