B4 Youth Theatre was established in 2009 by partnering with THINK (Touching Humanity in Need of Kindness) in Liberia. The pilot study of an arts education model for high risk youth was implemented in 2010 at the Children’s Rescue Center Orphanage Mission in Mt. Barclay, Liberia. This program has since flourished to reach more than 400 children in Monrovia and surrounding areas outside of the capitol city, building a reputation for quality programming for children that engages them in positive community change while bolstering their academic success. This new learning model blends arts education with public achievement to achieve a unique synthesis of creative community change through live performances and student-led projects. Follow us as we Burn Barriers and Build Bridges to academic success and positive community change!

Upcoming Stage Play: Murder in the Cassava Patch

B4 Youth Theatre, Inc. Liberia is excited to announce that we will be giving a
special tribute performance of Murder in the Cassava Patch on December 30,
2017 at 7pm with a 6pm pre-show.

This performance will be historic as we approach the new year of 2018 which marks the 50th anniversary since the publication of this cornerstone of Liberian literature.

Author Bai T. Moore was the founder of the National Culture Troupe in Liberia, and in his honor, this special event will be hosted on the original land of the National Culture Troupe at RLJ Kendeja in Monrovia, Liberia.
Our students at our Gbarnga area program site have run a book club and been in
extensive rehearsals in preparation for this event. We are building on their
momentum after having performed a stunning delivery of their own Liberian
version of Hamlet in 2016 as the opening act for Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.

We are pleased that Ladi Emeruwa, the Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre actor who
played the lead role of Hamlet, will be visiting with our students in December to
run workshops in physical theatre and voice. A special reception will be held with
him while he is in Liberia, and invitations will be sent to our sponsors for this
monumental event celebrating a Liberian classic.
Please contact to learn more about sponsorship.
